Lead Instructor: Guy Darienzo

Guy has over 35 years’ experience as an athlete, teacher, and athletic trainer. He was a three-year starter at wide receiver for the University of Delaware, Division I football team, where he developed the work ethic, discipline, and experience to understand and play the game at a high level. After college, he began coaching and teaching using his high energy and dedicated focus at Bergen Catholic High School, Ridgewood High School, as Head Freshman football coach at DePaul Catholic High School and most recently at Northern Highlands Regional High School.
Guy’s enthusiasm for teaching and coaching, as well as his desire to fully develop athletes to become the best version of themselves led him to the 8th grade enrichment program, The Prep. There he teaches Language Arts, a Social Emotional Learning course called Mindset, Mindfulness and Focal Attention (MMFA), and a Strength and Conditioning program. The MMFA course focuses on mindset training and the importance of the mind body connection.
An overwhelmingly positive approach, coupled with an in-depth ability to reach, relate to and inspire every athlete, rounds out a skill set that has made him an exceptionally successful coach and teacher in every venue. Guy has turned his focus to the sport of Pickleball and was a Lead Instructor at Bergen Pickleball Zone in Ramsey and is the Co-Director of Training at Prestige Pickleball in Northvale. As a PPR Pro, he focuses on the mental part of the game as well as the skills and tactics necessary to compete. This combined technique is designed to inspire and bring the enjoyment of the sport to all who step on the court.
